Does air leakage in the vacuum bag of frozen food affect consumption?
Vacuum packaging bags use the principle of deoxygenation to effectively maintain the color, aroma, and nutritional value of food, and are widely used in the food industry. Vacuum packaging and frozen storage of food have a longer shelf life. So, does air leakage in frozen food vacuum bags affect consumption?
Jinde packaging technicians suggest that frozen food vacuum bags should not be consumed after air leakage, because vacuum packaging is designed to prevent air from entering and oxidation to prevent decay. If the vacuum packaging leaks, it indicates that air has entered, so the item may have deteriorated.
How to solve the problem of air leakage in vacuum packaging bags generally needs to be considered from the following two aspects:
- Product: Whether the shape is regular, whether there are protruding parts, and whether it is easy to puncture or puncture the bag into a leak.;
- Bag: When choosing a vacuum packaging bag, attention should be paid to whether the material of the vacuum bag is suitable for freezing, whether it has low-temperature resistance, whether the thickness of the vacuum bag is suitable for the packaged product, and whether the packaged food has sharp edges, transportation friction, the bag is too thin, or the bag is too thick, all of which can cause insufficient sealing quality and air leakage. For example, when the vacuum bag is too thin, the protruding part of the bag will stretch and deform, and in severe cases, pinholes may appear.
- Operation: When sealing the vacuum bag, attention should be paid to keeping it flat to prevent folding. Pinholes are prone to occur at the folding point, causing air leakage.
