What are the materials of food packaging bags?
At present, there are six types of materials for food packaging bags:
1. PVDC (Polyvinylidene Chloride)
PVDC has good airtightness, flame resistance, corrosion resistance, safety and environmental protection, and meets food hygiene requirements, so it is widely used in the packaging of food and beverages. Moreover, PVDC has good weather resistance and will not fade even after prolonged outdoor exposure.
2. PE (polyethylene)
Good chemical stability, non-toxic, high transparency, and resistance to most acidic and alkaline corrosion, therefore it can be used for food plastic packaging. In addition, polyethylene has strong acid and alkali resistance and good low temperature resistance.
3. PA (Nylon)
PA material has high temperature resistance, puncture resistance, good oxygen barrier performance, and does not contain harmful ingredients, making it suitable for food packaging.
4. PP (polypropylene)
Food grade PP (polypropylene) does not release harmful substances even at high temperatures. Moreover, PP plastic is the only plastic product that can be heated in a microwave oven, so it is commonly used in food specific plastic bags and boxes.
5. EVOH (ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer)
EVOH is cold resistant, wear-resistant, has strong elasticity, and high surface strength. Therefore, it is widely used in sterile packaging, hot pots, steaming bags, packaging dairy products, meat, canned fruit juice, and seasonings.
6. Aluminum plated film (aluminum+PE).
Aluminum plated film is an environmentally friendly material that can prevent food oxidation and spoilage, avoid environmental pollution, and maintain the freshness and taste of food. Therefore, it can be used for food packaging!
