What are the materials of packaging bags?

2024-11-07

The purpose of packaging bags made of different materials is also different, but few people can distinguish them. So let's take a look at several materials and their main uses of packaging bags together.
1、 Aluminum foil material
Aluminum foil packaging bags have strong air barrier properties, high temperature resistance (121 ℃), low temperature resistance (-50 ℃), and oil resistance. The use of aluminum foil bags is different from ordinary packaging bags, mainly used for high-temperature steaming and storing low-temperature food. However, aluminum foil packaging bags lack heat sealing properties due to their fragile and easily breakable material, as well as poor acid resistance. So it is generally only used as the middle layer material of bags, such as milk packaging bags and frozen food packaging bags that we drink in our daily lives, which will use aluminum foil.
2、 PET material
PET, also known as biaxially oriented polyester film, has good transparency, strong luster, superior strength and toughness compared to other materials in packaging bags. It is not easily broken, non-toxic and odorless, and has high safety. It can be directly used for food packaging. So in daily life, PET is a packaging material for various foods, drugs, and non-toxic and sterile materials. However, its drawbacks are also very obvious, that is, it is not heat-resistant or alkali resistant, and cannot be soaked in hot water.
3、 Nylon
Nylon, also known as polyamide, has good transparency, heat resistance, oil resistance, puncture resistance, and is relatively soft to the touch. However, it is not moisture resistant and has poor heat sealing properties. So nylon packaging bags are mostly used for packaging solid foods, as well as some meat products and steamed foods, such as chicken, duck, pork ribs, etc., which can extend the shelf life of food.
4、 OPP material
OPP, also known as oriented polypropylene, is the most transparent and brittle material in packaging bags, with very low tensile strength. Most of the transparent packaging bags we use in our daily lives are made of OPP material, which is widely used in industries such as clothing, food, printing, cosmetics, printing, and paper.
5、 HDPE material
HDPE stands for High Density Polyethylene, and bags made from this material are also known as PO bags. They have a wide temperature range and can be used for both frozen food packaging and packaging bags that can withstand boiling at 100 degrees Celsius. In daily life, it is commonly used for food packaging, grocery shopping bags, and can also be made into composite films for anti permeation and insulation packaging of food.
6、 CPP: This material has good transparency and higher hardness than PE film. And it has many types and a wide range of uses, such as food packaging, candy packaging, medicine packaging, etc. It can also be used to make base films for composite materials, which can be combined with other films to form composite bags, such as hot filling, steaming bags, sterile packaging, etc.
7、 PVC plastic packaging bag
Made of polyvinyl chloride, it has good water resistance and transparency. The tensile strength and tear strength can be changed by adjusting the plasticizer dosage, and it has good processability. It is widely used in food packaging bags, stationery packaging bags, cosmetic packaging bags, transportation packaging, plastic shopping bags, garbage bags, etc.
The seven materials introduced above are some commonly used materials for packaging bags. The characteristics of each material are different, and the performance and application scenarios of the packaging bags made from them are also different. We need to choose according to our own actual situation.
