What is vacuum packaging? What is vacuum packaging?

2024-12-27

With the development of science and technology, delicacies from all over the world can be gathered at the same table, both delicious and fresh. This is certainly due to the contribution of "vacuum packaging". So, what is vacuum packaging? What is vacuum packaging? Next, Jinde Packaging will give you a detailed introduction.

What is vacuum packaging?

Vacuum packaging refers to a packaging method that approximates a vacuum state, with an important function of deoxygenation to delay the rate of food mold growth. The principle is very simple, which is to reduce the oxygen content and make microbial strains and other organisms lose their natural environment for survival. Numerous experiments have confirmed that when the concentration of oxygen in the packaging bag is ≤ 1%, the growth, development, and reproduction rate of microbial strains sharply decrease. When the oxygen concentration is ≤ 0.5%, most microbial strains will be inhibited and their reproduction will be terminated. Vacuum packaging can usually be divided into vacuum packaging and inflatable vacuum packaging.

What is vacuum packaging?

Vacuum packaging, also known as decompression packaging, is a packaging method that completely extracts and seals the air inside the packaging container. Vacuum packaging can inhibit the growth of microbial strains and also delay the process of food oxidation. For example, foods with high oil content contain many fatty acids, which will oxidize when exposed to oxygen, causing the food to become tasteless, moldy, and lose vitamins A and C, resulting in a change in food color.

What is inflatable vacuum packaging?

Inflatable vacuum packaging is the process of filling a single gas or a mixture of two or three gases, such as nitrogen, carbon dioxide, oxygen, etc., after being vacuumed. Its nitrogen is an inert gas that serves as a filling agent, maintaining a positive pressure inside the bag to prevent air from entering and providing protection for food. Inflatable vacuum packaging not only has the deoxygenation and quality assurance function of vacuum packaging, but also has the functions of compressive strength, gas barrier, refrigeration, etc., which can more reasonably maintain the original color, aroma, taste, shape and nutritional content of food products. Foods that are crispy and easily breakable, prone to clumping, easily deformed and oily, and those with sharp water chestnuts or high strength that can puncture packaging bags are suitable for inflatable vacuum packaging.
