What material is good for food packaging bags? Did you make the right choice?
Food packaging bags are a very important part of the food industry, accompanying the entire process of food production, circulation, and use. Their quality can directly affect the sales of products. Moreover, throughout the entire process, food packaging bags provide excellent protection for the food. If the material selection of food packaging bags is improper, it will not protect the food well and will also cause waste. Different packaging bag materials have different properties, and different foods also have different requirements for packaging bags. Different materials should be selected for different foods. What material is good for food packaging bags? Did you make the right choice?
1. Products with regular shapes or soft surfaces:
For products with regular shapes or soft surfaces, such as sausage products, soy products, etc., it is not necessary to require high mechanical strength of the material, only the barrier properties of the material and the influence of the sterilization temperature on the material need to be considered. Therefore, for such products, OPA/PE structured packaging bags are generally used. If high-temperature sterilization (above 100 ℃) is required, OPA/CPP structure can be used, or PE that can withstand high temperatures can be used as the heat sealing layer.
2. Products with high surface hardness:
Products such as bone and meat products, due to their high surface hardness and hard protrusions, are prone to puncturing the packaging bag during vacuum pumping and transportation. Therefore, the packaging bag for these products needs to have good puncture resistance and cushioning performance. Vacuum bags made of PET/PA/PE or OPET/OPA/CPP materials can be selected. If the product weight is below 500g, you can try using OPA/OPA/PE structure packaging bags, which have good product adaptability, better vacuum effect, and will not change the shape of the product.
3. Perishable products:
Low temperature meat products and other products that are prone to spoilage and require low-temperature sterilization do not have high requirements for the strength of the packaging bag, but they require good barrier properties. Therefore, pure co extruded films such as PA/PE/EVOH/PA/PE structured films can be selected, or dry lamination methods such as PA/PE thin films and K coating materials can be used. High temperature products can use PVDC shrink bags or dry composite bags.
Regarding the material of food packaging bags, we highly recommend seven layer co extruded food packaging bags, which have high barrier properties, are environmentally friendly and healthy, and can meet the needs of the products mentioned above, greatly extending the shelf life of food.
